Coin dedicated to Emmanuel PintoBorn 24 of May 1681 - Died 24 of January 1771
Became Vice-Chancellor in 1714. On the 18 of January 1741, following the demise of Raimond Despuig, Pinto was elected Grand Master, proclaiming himself Prince of Malata.
During his long 32-year reign Pinto ruled like a despot. He spent heavily, and accumulated large debts which impaired the Orders finances.

The coin's obverse side features a portrait of Emmanuel Pinto, a Maltese philanthropist and patron of the arts, while the reverse side depicts a traditional Maltese boat, known as a "luzzu," sailing through the blue waters of the Mediterranean.
