The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum (Spanish: Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza; named after its founder, Baron Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza), or simply the Thyssen, is an art museum in Madrid, Spain, located near the Prado Museum on one of the city's main boulevards.
Édouard Manet (23 January 1832 – 30 April 1883) was a French modernist painter. He was one of the first 19th-century artists to paint modern life, as well as a pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impressionism.
Sir Thomas Lawrence (13 April 1769 – 7 January 1830) was an English portrait painter and the fourth president of the Royal Academy. A child prodigy, he was born in Bristol and began drawing in Devizes, where his father was an innkeeper at the Bear Hotel in the Market Square. At age ten, having moved to Bath, he was supporting his family with his pastel portraits.
Interesting fact
The interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique double portrait of both Édouard Manet and Thomas Lawrence, two renowned artists from different eras, on its obverse side. This distinctive design was created to highlight the connection between art and numismatics, and it adds an extra layer of artistic value to the coin.
