Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 10 Euro Charlemagne coin is that it features a unique reverse design that depicts Charlemagne, also known as Charles the Great, holding a sword and an orb, symbolizing his power and influence as the King of the Franks and Holy Roman Emperor. The design is based on a 9th-century manuscript illustration from the Codex Aureus of Lorsch, which is a famous illuminated manuscript that showcases the art and culture of the Carolingian Renaissance. The coin's design is a nod to the rich history and cultural heritage of Europe during the Middle Ages.
