Interesting fact

The 10 Drachmes coin was the first coin to feature the new lettering of the Greek alphabet, which was introduced in 1982. The old lettering had been used on Greek coins since ancient times, and the change was made to modernize the currency and make it easier to read for the visually impaired. The new lettering was designed by the Greek artist and calligrapher, Georgios D. Katsoulis.
