The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) issued the first $10 lunar coin series between 1981 and 1992. In conjunction with the release of the nickel $10 Lunar Horse coin in 1990, the mint issued a silver proof coin in $10 denomination and a gold proof coin in $500 denomination.According to the MAS website, all three coins were issued on the 4th January 1990 and were not meant for circulation. The mintage numbers are 300,000 nickel coins, 30,000 silver proof coins and 5,000 gold proof coins. The issue price were S$13.50, S$50.00 and S$900.00 respectively.
This Lunar $10 Year of the Horse is struck in 92.50% fine silver and 7.50% alloy. The coin is encapsulated and presented in a clam-shell box with an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
