Comment

In 1782 during the American Revolutionary war, the French attacked various British outposts in the Caribbean and island of Saint Kitts was no exception. In the battle of Brimstone Hill French troops laid siege to the fortress there for a month before the British finally surrendered and the French controlled the island. After roughly a year, the Treaty of Paris returned Saint Kitts and neighboring Nevis to British rule.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a colorized image of Brimstone Hill, a historic fortification located on the island of St. Kitts. The colorization process involves applying a layer of color to the coin's design, creating a unique and eye-catching effect. This technique is not commonly used in coin production, making the coin even more distinctive and valuable to collectors.
