Comment
The Australian Silver Kookaburra series from the Perth Mint began in 1990 and is the longest-running bullion program from the mint. Each year has a different design of a kookaburra on the reverse. The laughing Kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher species, and a bird synonymous with the Australian bush. This bird species is indigenous to Australia and is known for their call, which is said to sound like echoing human laughter.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 2020 Australian Kookaburra 30th Anniversary 10 Dollar Silver Coin is that it features a unique reverse design, showcasing a kookaburra perched on a tree branch, surrounded by a rim of 30 kookaburras, one for each year of the coin's production. This special design was created to commemorate three decades of the popular Kookaburra coin series, which has been issued annually by the Perth Mint since 1990.
