Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with French engineer Albert Caquot. Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida fashioned the face. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the statue is 30 metres (98 ft) high, excluding its 8-metre (26 ft) pedestal. The arms stretch 28 metres (92 ft) wide.Interesting fact
The 10 Diners (Christ the Redeemer in Brazil) 2009 coin from Andorra is a unique piece, as it features a design that is not typically found on coins from Andorra. The coin features an image of Christ the Redeemer, a famous statue located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is interesting because Andorra is a small country located in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain, and it is not known for its connections to Brazil or the Christ the Redeemer statue. It is also made of silver (.925) and weighs 28.28 grams, making it a valuable and collectible item for coin enthusiasts.
