The 10 cents coin featuring King Mswati III, issued in 2015, was the first coin to be introduced in the new currency system of Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland), which replaced the Swazi lilangeni with the Eswatini lilangeni at a rate of 1:1. This change was made to reflect the country's new name and to bring the currency in line with international standards.
