This year (2021) marks the 100th anniversary of the launch of Bluenose, the pride of Nova Scotia and a Canadian icon! The centennial is commemorated on Canada’s 2021 10-cent circulation coins, which are featured here.
To commemorate the centennial anniversary of Canada’s iconic schooner, three different Bluenose commemorative dimes have been issued in 2021.
Double-dated classic:
Introduced in 1937, the reverse design by Emanuel Hahn is double dated (“1921 - 2021”) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the launch of Canada’s most famous ship and features the classic portrait of Bluenose under sail. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
