Comment
The Central Bank of Barbados identifies the bird as a tern (http://www.centralbank.org.bb/banknotes/circulation-coins/cultural-symbols-on-circulation-coins) but this is incorrect as terns have a forked tail. The Royal Mint coins were struck by two groups of dies for Obverse and Reverse.
Obverse
Die 1 - motto 'PRIDE AND INDUSTRY' bold, all the rest details thin and far from each other.
Die 2 - motto 'PRIDE AND INDUSTRY' thin, all the rest details thick and closer to each other.
