Interesting fact
The 10 Centimes coin was introduced in 1851 as part of the French decimal system, and it was minted in aluminum because it was a relatively inexpensive metal at the time. However, due to the rising cost of aluminum during World War I, the coin was temporarily made of bronze instead. In 1921, the aluminum 10 Centimes coin was reintroduced and has remained so ever since.
