The obverse of the coin features a portrait of King Leopold I, while the reverse features an image of the royal couple, Prince Leopold and Princess Charlotte, surrounded by an ornate frame. The coin was minted to commemorate the marriage of Prince Leopold, the future King Leopold II, to Princess Charlotte of Saxony in 1853.
