Struck on a gold blank, this trial was used as a presentation coin. Signature "CH.PILLET" on reverse, followed by the word "ESSAI". As this gold trial was not required in the competition, it was struck on the initiative and at the expense of the engraver. 2 known examples.Interesting fact
