A similar later restrike using original dies of the Buenos aires mint, clearly struck over an Chile 1847 gold 1 Escudo (KM101.2). An amount of 150,500 coins of this denomination was authorized in the September 13, 1889 law but none were struck

According to the contract between the Buenos Aires Mint (Casa de Moneda de la República Argentina) and a representative of Paraguay, a whole series of coins had to be minted in silver: 5, 10, 20, 50 centavos and 1 peso. But actually, only 1 peso was minted in 1889. Other coins are known only as pattern strikes.

Interesting fact

The Pattern 10 Centavos (Gold Pattern) ND (1888) from Paraguay made of Gold is a rare and unique coin, with only a few known examples existing in the world. It was minted during the presidency of Juan Gualberto González, who served from 1887 to 1890. The coin features the national emblem of Paraguay on one side and a portrait of González on the other. Its gold content makes it particularly valuable, and it is considered a prized collector's item among numismatists.
