Interesting fact
The 10 Centavos coin from Cape Verde was designed by the Portuguese artist, António de Sousa. The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of the Portuguese king, Manuel II, while the reverse side features the coat of arms of Cape Verde, which includes a shield with the islands' map and a sailing ship. The coin was minted in 1930 and was used as a standard circulation coin in Cape Verde until it was replaced by the Cape Verdean escudo in 1977.
