Krause says there is an estimate of 1000 varieties for this type, and goes on to list a few of the sub-types based on rosette/stars on the obverse/reverse, and the various sizes of those rosettes/stars that exist. When worn, the rosettes and stars can be difficult to distinguish, but the rosettes have a raised centre whereas the stars have an incuse centre.
