Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was produced during a time of great change and turmoil in China, as the country was transitioning from the Qing dynasty to the Republic. The Guangxu Emperor, who ruled from 1875 to 1908, was the only emperor of the Qing dynasty to issue coins without the traditional Chinese characters for the denomination, instead using the Western-style numbering system of 10 cash. This coin, produced during his reign, is a rare example of this unique coinage system.
