Comment
The Slender Gold script was the personal calligraphy style of the Emperor. In 1107, it was said that the enemy was melting iron cash coins and turning them into weapons. In response, some iron coins were made with high contents of tin.
Interesting fact
The Daguan Tongbao iron coin was used during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127 AD) and was one of the first coins to be made of iron. This was a significant innovation in coinage technology, as previous coins had been made of bronze, silver, or gold. The use of iron allowed for the production of coins that were more durable and less prone to counterfeiting. Additionally, the iron used in these coins was said to have been obtained from the recycling of old weapons and armor, which helped to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
