Comment
In 991, permission was requested to alter the value of iron coins to 10 Cash (increasing their size and weight). In one year, 3,000 strings were cast, but these were not considered convenient, and casting was stopped.Interesting fact
The 10 Cash coin from the Empire of China, made of iron, was used as a form of currency during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127 AD). It was first introduced during the reign of Emperor Taizong, who ruled from 976 to 997 AD. The coin was called "Yuanbao" or "Chunhua," which means "round treasure" or "spring flower." It was designed with a round shape and a square hole in the center, which made it easy to string together with other coins. The iron used to make these coins was obtained from the smelting of iron ore, and the coins were produced in large quantities to meet the needs of the growing economy. Despite being made of a relatively cheap material, these coins were highly valued and widely used in trade and commerce.
