Comment

In 1102, 5 Cash coins were issued, and in the following year, 10 Cash coins were issued. In 1104, the 1 and 5 Cash pieces were abolished, leaving a sole reliance on the 10 Cash pieces, but those were deemed to be insufficient. In 1105, casting of the 10 Cash pieces was halted.

Interesting fact

The 10 Cash coin from the Chongning (Zhongbao) era (1103-1105) was used during the Northern Song Dynasty in China. It was made of bronze and weighed 12.71 grams. Interestingly, the coin was designed with a square hole in the center, which was a unique feature of ancient Chinese coins. The square hole was believed to represent the earth, while the round shape of the coin symbolized the heavens. This design was meant to reflect the harmony between heaven and earth, and it was a distinct feature of Chinese currency during that time.
