Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features the first known depiction of a hoplite (a heavily armored Greek foot soldier) on a Greek coin. The hoplite is shown on the obverse (front) side of the coin, wearing a helmet, armor, and carrying a shield and spear. This coin was minted during a time of great military and cultural significance for the city of Argos, and the inclusion of the hoplite image reflects the importance of the military in ancient Greek society.
