The Sayano-Shushenskay Electric Power Station – the biggest in Eurasia – is located on the Yenisei River on the territory of the Republic of Khakasiya. The hydroelectric station consists of the concrete arched gravity dam, the premises of the electric station with 10 aggregates, the first of which was set into the function in December 1978, and the last one – in 1985.

Interesting fact

The 10,000 Roubles (Khakasiya) 2007 gold coin from Russia features an unusual design, with the obverse side bearing the image of a Khakasian warrior, while the reverse side depicts a stylized image of a horse.
