The 2004 Deng Xiaoping 1 Yuan coin was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Deng Xiaoping's birth. Deng Xiaoping was a prominent Chinese politician and statesman who served as the Paramount Leader of China from 1978 to 1992.
