One interesting fact about the Pattern 1 Yuan / 1 Dollar (Pattern; Founding of the Republic: Yuan Shikai; gold) ND (1914) from Republic of China made of Gold is that it was designed to commemorate the founding of the Republic of China by Yuan Shikai, who was the first president of the Republic of China. The coin features an image of Yuan Shikai on one side and the National Emblem of the Republic of China on the other.
