Interesting fact
The 1621 Siege issue 1½ Thaler coin from the City of Glogau (Silesia) was minted during a time of great turmoil in the region. The Thirty Years' War had begun in 1618 and would last until 1648, causing widespread destruction and disrupting trade throughout Europe. Despite these challenges, the City of Glogau was able to continue minting coins, including this particular issue, which was produced using silver. The coin's design features the coat of arms of the Silesian Estates on one side and the image of a crowned eagle on the other. It is a rare and valuable collector's item today, with only a few examples known to exist in mint condition.
