Interesting fact
The 1 Thaler coin from the Bishopric of Strasbourg, minted in 1575 during the reign of John IV of Manderscheid-Blanckenheim, features an unusual design element - a small shield with the coat of arms of the House of Manderscheid-Blanckenheim, which was the noble family that ruled the region at the time.
