Comment
Imitating a Leeuwendaalder of the Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden***
This silver plated copper thaler is a Levantine imitation to the Dutch Leeuwendaalder that could not be precisely assigned until now. The assignment to Rietberg based on the inscription is no longer tenable according to today's research. Nevertheless, we have classified the piece under Rietberg, since it can also be found there in the relevant literature.
