Comment

Saxon succession from 1547 (Albertine). The mint mark of the standing or flying swan stands for Heinrich v. Rehnen, the Dresden coin master, who was making coins from 1605 until Quartal Reminiscere (3 March) 1624.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1 Thaler coin from the Electorate of Saxony (Albertinian Line) is that it features a unique design element - a small shield with the coat of arms of the House of Wettin, the ruling dynasty of Saxony at the time. This shield is located on the reverse side of the coin, surrounded by the inscription "IOHANNES GEORGIUS I D G ELECTOR SAXONIAE" (John George I, Elector of Saxony). This design element sets the coin apart from other coins of the same denomination and time period, and highlights the importance of the House of Wettin in the history of Saxony.
