Interesting fact
The 1 Thaler coin from the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, minted during the reign of Joachim Frederick of Brandenburg (1588-1598), was made of silver, but it was also unique in that it featured a Protestant motto on one side and a Catholic motto on the other. This was a deliberate design choice meant to reflect the religious tensions of the time and to promote unity between the two faiths.
