Prev. C#31Interesting fact
The obverse of the coin features an image of Frederick III, the Duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, dressed in royal attire and sporting a large wig. The reverse of the coin shows the coat of arms of the duchy, which includes a shield with the symbols of the three states that made up the duchy: Saxony, Gotha, and Altenburg. The shield is surrounded by a wreath and topped with a crown. This coin is interesting because it highlights the rich history and cultural heritage of the German States during the 18th century. The coin's design reflects the influences of the Enlightenment and the Baroque period, which were prominent during that time. Additionally, the coin's silver content and intricate design make it a valuable collector's item for numismatists today.
