One interesting fact about the 1 Thaler coin from the Austrian Empire is that it was used as a means of payment for the soldiers of the empire. The coin was valued at 1/4 of a gulden, which was the standard unit of currency at the time. This coin was also used as a form of tax payment, and its value was based on the weight of silver it contained. Additionally, the coin features an image of Ferdinand I, the Holy Roman Emperor, on one side and the imperial eagle on the other.
