Interesting fact

The 1 Thaler coin from the County of Stolberg-Stolberg, minted in 1706, features a unique design element - a small hole in the center of the coin. This hole was intentionally drilled into the coin to signify that it was made of pure silver, as opposed to other coins that were made of a lower quality metal. This feature was known as a "Schlag" or "Stolberg Hole" and was a distinctive characteristic of coins minted in the County of Stolberg-Stolberg during that time period.
