Interesting fact
The 1 Thaler coin from the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, minted during the reign of Christian William of Brandenburg (1608-1612), was made of silver, but it was also one of the first coins to feature a depiction of a Protestant church on its reverse side. This was a significant departure from the traditional Catholic imagery that had been featured on coins up until that point, and it reflected the religious tensions and changes that were taking place in the German States during that time.
