Interesting fact
The coin features an image of Christian Louis, the Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg-Celle, on one side, and an image of the Brunswick Lion on the other. The lion is a symbol of the House of Guelph, which ruled the region for centuries. The coin's design was created by the artist Johann Georg von Langen, who was a prominent engraver and medalist of the time.
