Interesting fact
The 1 Thaler 1543 from City of Kaufbeuren (German States) made of Silver features an image of Saint Mary with the Child Jesus on the obverse (front side), which was a common motif in medieval European coinage. The reverse (back side) of the coin bears the coat of arms of the City of Kaufbeuren, which includes a shield with three roses and a crown above it. This coin was minted during the reign of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, who was also the King of Germany and Italy.
