This Tamlung (4 baht) coin bearing the Royal Seal device, is commonly known as "Theng Ming" coin, based on the Chinese legend on the reverse. These coins were issued in 1860 in commemoration of Rama IV's 60th birthday. They bear the Royal Seal device on the obverse and on the reverse the legend "Krung Siam" and the Chinese legend "Circulating currency of Theng Ming Tong Bao." Theng Ming is the Chinese name of the King Rama IV. Each star on the obverse of this coinage represents the value of one fuang.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the "Dên Mêng Tong Bo" coin is that it features an image of King Rama IV (Mongkut) on one side and a depiction of the temple of the Emerald Buddha on the other. This coin was minted to commemorate the king's 25th year on the throne and is considered a rare and valuable collector's item.
