These are approximately the size of the 20 Fen pieces. While having a 1 Tael piece at such a small size may seem odd, one possible explaination is that these were circulation pieces were supposed to be made of gold--pieces that never made it to production due to the outbreak of the Boxer Rebellion.Interesting fact
