Comment

Two main differences allow to distinguish Km# 741 from Km# 720:
- Obverse legend is CHRISTIANUS in km# 720 and CHRISTIANVS in km# 741
- In km# 720 the engraver's name is on the bar below the shield on reverse, while in Km# 741 the initials are engraved on neck-cut in obverse portrait (even if often are poorly visible or even unreadable)

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1 Speciedaler - Christian VIII (Type 2) coin from Denmark is that it was issued during a time of monetary reform in the country. In 1846, King Christian VIII introduced a new coinage system that replaced the old system based on the Danish rigsdaler with a new system based on the speciedaler, which was equal to 1/4 of a rigsdaler. This coin was minted as part of that reform, and it features the king's portrait on one side and the Danish coat of arms on the other. The use of silver in the coin's composition was also a significant change from the previous coinage system, which had used a copper-based alloy.
