Comment
This coin has a lot of variants, rarely described in catalogues. The main reference for a correct identification is the work of Knudsen and Nielsen (Knudsen, K. og Nielsen, P.: Møntvarianter og fejlprægninger fra Christian IIII. Kastrup 1982.). They divide the species type into 7 variants. These variants are mainly based on variation in the inscription (Chr. IIII vs. Chr. 4), in number of digits in the year and the coin-master mark.TYPE: 1 Reverse: Fortuna is very clumsy. The legs are not crossed. The sail is blowing to the right.

Interesting fact
The 1 Speciedaler coin from Denmark, issued during the reign of Christian IV (1623-1625), features an interesting design element - the king's crown. The crown is depicted as a separate element from the king's head, which was a unique design choice for coins of that time. This feature was included to symbolize the king's divine right to rule and to emphasize his authority as a monarch.
