Issued to commemorate HM The Queens's sapphire coronation anniversary with a special '65' mint mark.This sovereign was issued in a 5-coin set (849 sales, issue limit 850), in a 4-coin set (299 sales, issue limit 300), in a premium 3-coin set (432 sales), in a standard 3-coin set (986 sales, issue limit 1,000) and as individual pieces (10,633 sales, issue limit 10,650).

Two Strike on the Day issues were released in 2018. The first was to commemorate The Queen's Sapphire Coronation on 2nd June; this strike was in Brilliant Uncirculated quality with a plain edge (323 sales, issue limit 650). The second was to commemorate Prince George's fifth birthday and this is listed separately as it featured no special privy mark.

Since 2009 the full sovereign has omitted the streamer from the helmet of St. George however the other sovereign denominations continue to have the streamer.
