The Strike On The Day was the first 2023 dated Sovereign to be issued, this coin was struck on 6th May 2023 to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. It was struck to Brilliant Uncirculated standard, it features a plain edge and frosted obverse & reverse, setting it apart from the standard Sovereign. Issue Limit: 1,260.© The Royal Mint, 2023
The proof strike came later and was issued individually (issue limit: 15,000) and in a milestones set (issue limit: 1,000) a 3-coin (issue limit:1,250), 4-coin (issue limit: 575) and 5-coin sets (issue Limit: 1,050). Issue limit: 18,905.
