Comment

While this coin has design features similar to coins within the Lombard Kingdom, the specific area is uncertain. With the design being slightly different from issues of Lombardy, Tuscany, and Benevento, one theory is that this type came from the Duchy of Spoleto, which otherwise had no known coins. Even so, that is just a theory. Out of the other three places, this coin is most similar to ones from Tuscany, which is why it will be listed here.

The date is also unknown, so with this coin being listed with the pseudo-imperial coins of Tuscany, it will be given the largest date-range possible (starting at when Constans II came into power).

The exact lettering of the surrounding legend may vary.

No date:
1) CONSTLN - TINVS PP A / IVTORI - A AVS
2) CONSTLN - TINVS PP A / ITORI - A AVS

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Constans II, who was the last emperor to visit Rome before the city's fall to the Lombards in 756 AD.
