Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Sol 1864-1916 coin from Peru is that it was designed by the Peruvian artist and engraver, José Sabogal. He was known for his work in the style of Art Nouveau and his designs were often inspired by Peruvian culture and history. The coin features an image of the Peruvian coat of arms on one side and a portrait of José de la Mar, a Peruvian military leader and politician, on the other. The coin was minted in silver and copper and weighs 25 grams.
