Comment

There exist galvanised 19th century copys of the original coin. All of the galvinised examples are made from the same original coins which has been in several notable collections since. These copies were made in order to fill holes in many collections, as even during the 19th century this coins was hard to acquire.

This coin is referred to as "Gimsøydaler" from its minting place, at the Gimsøy nunnery in Skien and is one of the most sought after coins for Norwegian collectors.
