The Corfu Lamp coin was designed by Israeli artist and sculptor, Dani Karavan, and features a depiction of a traditional Jewish lamp, known as a "menorah," with seven branches. The lamp is surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves, symbolizing victory and peace. The coin's design was inspired by the story of the miracle of the oil during the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after the Maccabean Revolt, which is commemorated during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
