Comment
Stylistically derived from the contemporary Ottoman coins struck in the last few years before the Safavid conquest of Baghdad on 23 Rabi' I AH1033 (24 January 1624). This design was apparently used only in the immediate months after the conquest, replaced thereafter by the standard current Safavid design, type A#2636.3Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Shahi - Abbas I Safavi (Baghdad) 1033 (1624) coin from Iran is that it features a unique blend of Islamic and Persian designs on its obverse and reverse sides. The obverse side features the name of the ruler, Abbas I Safavi, in Persian script, while the reverse side features a stylized representation of the Islamic crescent moon and star. This blend of designs reflects the cultural and religious influences of the Safavid dynasty, which ruled Iran from the 16th to the 18th century.
