Comment
The mint in Berlin planned to strike 135 coins from one cologne mark (233,8g) of copper, but at an unknown point in time it was changed to 180 coins from one cologne mark, making the weight of one Schilling less than before. In total 540.000 coins were minted, which was equal to 1.000 Thalers, but according to estimates somewhere between 601-3000 of these coins survived.
Interesting fact
The coin features an image of Frederick William III, who was the King of Prussia from 1797 until his death in 1840. During his reign, he oversaw a series of military reforms and modernizations that helped to transform Prussia into a major military power in Europe. Despite facing challenges from Napoleon's France and other European powers, Frederick William III was able to maintain Prussia's independence and lay the foundations for its future growth and prosperity.
