Comment
- The King is shown wearing a robe with a small elephant on it. This elephant was thought to resemble a pig with the trunk appearing to be a pig snout and the short legs not appearing very elephant-like. This offended the religious sensibilities of many, so most of the Rupees minted for 1911 were withheld from circulation and later melted. From 1912 onwards, the coins had a redesigned elephant.

Interesting fact
The 1 Rupee coin from India, featuring George V, was part of a series of coins minted during the British colonial era in India. These coins were minted in silver and had a distinctive design that included the image of the British monarch on one side and an image of a lion on the other. The coin , minted in 1911, is particularly interesting because it was one of the last coins minted during the reign of George V, who ruled from 1910 until his death in 1936. Additionally, the coin's silver content makes it a valuable collector's item for numismatists.
