Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Ahmad Shah Bahadur, who was the last Mughal Emperor to issue coins in his own name. This coin, which was minted in Muhammadabad Banares (now known as Varanasi) between 1748 and 1754, features the emperor's name and title in Persian script on one side, and a stylized representation of the Mughal Empire's coat of arms on the other. Despite being made of silver, the coin weighs only 11.29 grams, which is relatively light compared to other coins of similar value from the same period. This may have been a deliberate design choice to make the coin more portable and easier to handle in everyday transactions.
